In-home caregivers play an integral role in providing these essential services.

In-home caregivers provide companionship as well as hands off care to our clients who require assistance to keep their households functioning. In-home caregivers establish a rapport with the clients and become a part of their lives.

In-home caregivers assist with routine household tasks such as:

  • Assisting in the planning of meals in accordance with dietary restrictions, cultural, and economic family standards
  • Preparing grocery lists and shopping for the client
  • Handling laundry
  • LIGHT housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming, and tidying a house)
  • Changing bed linens

Home Health Aides (HHA)/PCAs play a vital role in these services, offering companionship and “hands-on” care to clients in need of assistance with personal hygiene and safety. They establish meaningful rapport with clients, becoming an integral part of their lives.

Home Health Aides (HHA)/PCAs responsibilities include:

  • Assist in personal care of clients
  • Follow directions and nursing procedures, (proper lifting, moving of the client, oral hygiene, bathing, skin care, and monitoring of equipment); no fingernail or toenail cutting is permitted
  • Observe and properly record the clients’ care, symptoms, and mental and physical status
  • Report pertinent observations and significant changes
  • Maintain a pleasant, sanitary, and safe environment in areas of the home used by the client
  • Provide household services that are designated to prevent or postpone the client’s institutionalization
  • Tend to nutritional needs, which may include purchase of food, preparation of meals in accordance with dietary regimen, and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Recognize and utilize opportunities for reinforcing good health practices to patient and family

Pay Rate: Starting pay at $20 per hour

Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are needed for supplemental staffing in Pittsfield and Berkshire County long-term care facilities (LTC), residential and public schools, clinics, camps, and doctor offices. 

These nursing positions are fulltime, part-time, or per diem and would allow for a flexible schedule.

Nurses need to have:

  • At least six months of nursing experience
  • Ability to pass a CORI screening
  • Two positive work related references
  • Reliable transportation 
  • A positive work ethic

Pay rates based on nursing license and experience (starting $33/hr for LPNs and $38/hr for RNs)

Primary Function:  

Manage and supervise MOLARI HealthCare field staff while on assignment. Ensure field staff follow proper procedures when caring for MOLARI clients.  Assist Director of HealthCare when home care skills trainings and classes are being offered. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

Employees – 

  • Perform quarterly supervisory home visits with field staff and clients to meet ESBC guidelines. 
  • Responsible for any re-education/counseling when issues or deficiencies are found during supervisory visits; document visits in client and employee’s files. 
  • Review and implement ESBC PC care plans on first visit with new client and employee assigned to ensure proper care is provided. 
  • Maintain and update supervisory list in excel spreadsheet. 
  • Assign uncovered supervisory visits to per diem field staff as needed 

Clients – 

  • Assess new clients and create individualized Home Health Aide Care plan utilizing information from ESBC RN assessment and client/family interview.   
  • Perform quarterly visits to review care plan and make appropriate changes to care plan as needed; provide copy of care plan to ESBC and communicate any changes to ESBC RN. 
  • Communicate with ESBC case managers regularly regarding any client issues 

Administrative, etc. – 

  • Work with Director of HealthCare to provide quality home care of clients following ESBC and HCAC guidelines 
  • Share teaching responsibility of HHA/ PCA classes and home care skills trainings with Director of HealthCare 
  • Answer phone calls as able, forward calls to appropriate in-house staff person. 
  • Promote a positive and encouraging attitude in daily work with all in-house staff. 

Supervision Received:  

Weekly meetings with HealthCare team; meetings with Director of HealthCare Services as needed. 

Supervision Exercised:  

Supervise MOLARI HealthCare field staff while on assignment to ensure they are following proper procedures and techniques as directed per MOLARI policy and the client care plan. 

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:  

  • RN degree required: Current MA licensure is required. 
  • Current Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required. 
  • Experience in Home Health Care organization is helpful. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers 
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams) 
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service 
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices 

Physical Demands:  

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. 
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephoneOther:
    • Applicants need to be able to provide 2 positive work-related references, have reliable transportation, a good work ethic and be able to pass a CORI screening.
    • Applicants need to show proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID 19 as per state mandate.

Additional Information

The position is for  15-20 hour per week. Previous nurse worked Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-2pm but there is some flexibility in hours and days.
